Eduniversal 2023 ranking analysis
This year, Université Paris Dauphine-PSL's Master's in Financial Markets (203) ranks first in the world, ahead of emlyon BS, HEC Paris and ESSEC BS. Paris Dauphine-PSL is thus confirming its recognized expertise in market finance and the quality of its teaching and graduates. According to data collected from recent graduates, no less than 80% of Master 203 students have received one (or more) offers from leading financial institutions: Bank of America, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Citi, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Nomura in London.
Université Paris Dauphine-PSL also appears in 3rd place with its Master in Asset Management (222), then in 10th place with its Master in Finance (104). This is the most represented school in the Eduniversal ranking.
EMlyon Business School (2nd), ESSEC (4th) and EDHEC (5th) complete the Top 5, followed by HEC Paris (6th). Among the strongest gains: the MS/MSc International Financial Analysis at NEOMA (8th) and the MBA Trading at ESLSCA Business School Paris. Conversely, AUDENCIA and KEDGE are absent from the ranking.
Ranking methodology: everything you need to know
The Eduniversal ranking is based on three main criteria.
The reputation criterion measures the brand name delivered by the establishment, as well as its influence and recognition in the world of finance. To assess this criterion, a survey is sent each year to a panel of 1,000 human resources professionals.
As for graduates' exit salaries, the ranking assesses first-job salaries using information obtained from schools and universities.
Finally, student satisfaction feedback is assessed by means of a questionnaire sent to students in the graduating class. For these responses to be considered, at least 20% (for Masters, MS and MBA) or 10% (for Licences, Bachelors and Grandes Écoles) of students (and a minimum of 5 students) must have completed the questionnaire.
Malus points" can be awarded to the program if there is too great a discrepancy between the exit salary advertised by a program and the data collected from HR teams or alumni. On the other hand, a system of "bonus points" has been set up for this ranking.
For example, + 0.15 points for programs in which at least 50% of students find a job before graduating; + 0.15 points for programs with at least 7 different nationalities; + 0.05 points for programs that receive at least twice as many applications as those that do not.
