L'Étudiant rankings : The top business schools of 2025
L'Étudiant unveils the 40th edition of its ranking of business schools offering the best Grande École programs in France. A total of 37 establishments are evaluated, some of which are accessible directly after the baccalauréat, while others are aimed at students who have completed preparatory classes.

This year, the Top 3 has been turned upside down, with emlyon business school moving up two places from 4th to 2nd. ESSEC also moved up one place to 2nd, ex aequo with emlyon. These two schools take the place of ESCP, which falls two places to 4th this year. However, there has been no change to the top of the podium, as it is still occupied by the indestructible HEC Paris.
In the Top 10, Grenoble EM put in a fine performance, moving up from 14th to 10th. EDHEC and IÉSEG dropped 2 places each to 7th and 9th. Lastly, SKEMA and NEOMA moved up one place each to 5th and 7th respectively this year.

Methodology of l'Étudiant ranking of the best business school
L'Étudiant's rankings are based on an elaborate methodology that takes into account 85 criteria, carefully defined according to their relevance, differentiating character and data robustness. These criteria are divided into eight main themes : the school's identity, the origin of integrated students, professionalization, internationalization, the environment and corporate social responsibility (CSR), graduate satisfaction, and the professional integration of graduates.
The data used comes from a variety of sources, including professors' publications, diplomas and references. To guarantee its reliability, this information is rigorously checked and verified by l'Étudiant journalists. This process ensures that the rankings accurately reflect the quality of the schools.
The ranking is not limited to a simple academic assessment, as it also takes into account essential dimensions such as student satisfaction and the suitability of courses for the job market.
